Alternative candidates will be recommended by the Vacancy Committee for appointment in order of merit in the following cases:-
(a) If the candidate recommended for appointment does not come to collect the letter of appointment within thirty days from the date of receiving the notice of appointment or the date of publication of the notice or if he does not return to the post within the prescribed period after receiving the appointment, or (b) If the post becomes vacant within one year from the date of publication of the final result due to the death of the candidate recommended for appointment or his/her resignation or appointment to another post.
